Mamata Banerjee on dharna again after 20 years
A dharna stage has already been set up at the metro channel in Dharmatala. Trinamool MLAs and leaders from different districts of South Bengal have started reaching there. According to party sources, this dharna may not be just a one-day program, but may continue for a few more days. There is a possibility of conducting this sit-in program for about a week. That is why the party's ministers, spokespersons and speakers have been asked to be ready for a few days.
Trinamool leaders will continuously speak from the dharna stage. Party sources have indicated that the Chief Minister may also clarify her position from this stage at some point. The main reason for this program is the intensive revision process or SIR of the state's voter list.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged that the names of many valid voters have been excluded from the list for political reasons. She claims that uncertainty has arisen regarding the names of about 60 lakh voters, which is very worrying for the democratic system. This issue has already reached the Supreme Court. A case is going on there and a legal battle has also started on the matter.
However, according to a section of political analysts, by bringing this issue to the fore before the elections, there may be an attempt to divert people's attention from various controversies and anti-government allegations in the state.

On the other hand, the BJP is not giving much importance to this dharna. The party's state president Shamik Bhattacharya claims that the anger against the government among the people of the state has increased so much that such programs of Mamata Banerjee will not be able to change the situation in any way. According to him, it is only a matter of time before the state changes.
